Re:   2023/2024 Performance Cycle Check-In 1 and 2 for Policy-Covered (Non-Represented)

The 2023/2024 ePerformance cycle for policy-covered (non-represented) staff began April 1, 2023.  The first communication regarding the 2023/2024 Performance Cycle for Policy-Covered (Non-Represented Staff) was sent via the Dlist-l listserv on April 26, 2023.

Check-In 1 and 2 - Due October 1 and December 18, 2023

Now that Define Criteria is approved, the comment boxes are now open under each tab for Check-In 1 and 2.  Use the comments fields throughout the check-in phase to document and date your thoughts and ideas prior to meeting with your supervisor or employee.  These comments can be updated throughout the check-in phase.  The Check-In is not intended to be a comprehensive review of performance, but a ‘check-in’ on progress towards achieving the agreed-upon goals as well as core competencies.

Once your check-in comments are complete, share the comments with your supervisor or employee via ePerformance.  After the comments are shared, the supervisor and employee should meet to discuss the employee’s progress and performance.  After meeting with the employee, the supervisor completes the Check-In.  Once Check-In 2 is completed, the Finalize Criteria phase opens.

Finalize Criteria - Due After Check-In 2 Completed

Finalize Criteria is considered a housekeeping step.  The supervisor and employee may add final comments, but this is neither expected nor required.  Once Check-In 2 is complete, the Finalize Criteria step opens.  The supervisor selects the Finalize Criteria step and, similar to the check-ins, clicks on “complete Finalize Criteria” (upper right-hand corner of the Finalize Criteria page).  The employee receives an auto-generated email notification that the criteria are finalized.  The ePerformance process moves to the Complete Self Evaluation step.  Communication will be sent prior to the end of the evaluation cycle with more information regarding the self-evaluation process and the final manager evaluation.

ePerformance Due Dates

As a reminder, while the due dates are coded in the system, please note that you have some flexibility.  While nothing happens if a deadline passes, we highly recommend as a best practice to not go more than two weeks beyond the deadline.  As an example, if the deadline for completing Check-In 1 is October 1, 2023, we recommend completing that step no later than October 15, 2023.
