RE:         New Updates for COVID-19 Related Leaves for Staff Employees

A new Kronos pay code “COVID-19 Pay Continuation” will be available Tuesday in the Kronos timekeeping system for use in the current pay period.  The new pay code should only be applied to career employees who meet all of the requirements for pay continuation as defined in the guidance issued by the Office of the President at COVID-19 Related Leaves and Job Protections Guidance for Policy-Covered and Represented Staff Employees.  The new Kronos pay code will be added to the timekeeping instructions posted at https://www.timekeeping.ucsb.edu/news/update-entering-covid-19-related-leaves-kronos

To recap other recent updates from April 28th and May 4th, this is a reminder that the Office of the President also issued revised guidance that allows non-exempt staff employees to utilize the Paid Administrative Leave (PAL) in less than full day increments, and Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) may be taken in blocks, rather than a single two-week block.
