Re:   HR Update on Implementing Administrative Pay in Response to the Effects of the Thomas Fire

In follow up to the Chancellor’s email this afternoon, January 10th, this is a reminder that HR guidelines for implementing paid emergency leave in response to the effects of the Thomas Fire are available at  https://www.hr.ucsb.edu/news/hr-guidelines-implementing-administrative-pay-response-effects-thomas-fire.

Staff who are unable to report to work due to road closures should contact their supervisor or department head for assistance and to discuss their work status.  Department managers are encouraged to exercise maximum flexibility for staff who are experiencing hardships as a result of this ongoing situation.  Departments with questions regarding staff who are impacted in Montecito and requesting assistance or who are unable to report to work due to road closures should contact Farfalla Borah, Employee & Labor Relations Manager, at 893-4482.

The professionals in the Academic & Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) are available to assist all UCSB employees with the impact of these circumstances.  More information is available at:  asap or by calling 893-3318.

Thank you and be safe.
