RE:      Additional Emergency Paid Sick Leave for COVID-19 relief available to all UC employees for 2022

Though cases are thankfully declining, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact UC employees and their ability to work. In recognition of these ongoing challenges, the University is providing up to 80 hours of 2022 Emergency Paid Sick Leave (2022 EPSL) for full-time UC employees (capped at 80 hours) and the two-week equivalent for part-time employees.

This additional allotment of EPSL is available for immediate use through September 30, 2022. Employees who took leave on or after January 1, 2022 for one or more of the qualifying reasons below, may request 2022 EPSL retroactively. Employees are encouraged to direct questions to their supervisor.

Please refer to the UCnet article for the full details.

Staff and non-instructional academic employees may request EPSL by speaking to their supervisor or by submitting a completed EPSL Request Form to their supervisor. Senate Faculty and Lecturers must submit their request to use EPSL via the leave module on the Academic Personnel website.

Questions regarding staff usage of EPSL should be submitted by supervisors via HR ServiceNow  => Employee & Labor Relations => Department Advisory Services.

Questions regarding academic appointee usage of EPSL should be submitted to:  AP-Leave@ucsb.edu or the appropriate analyst in the Academic Personnel Office.

Questions regarding Kronos should be submitted via IT ServiceNow => Enterprise Business Applications => Kronos Timekeeping
