RE:       Extension to use the Emergency Paid Sick Leave for COVID-19 relief available to UC employees for 2021   


In recognition of the many challenges UC employees continue to face, the University has decided to extend the time in which to use Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) for all University employees, including exclusively represented employees.

The full details on the use of EPSL are available on UCnet.  

Staff and non-instructional academic employees may request EPSL by speaking to their supervisor or by submitting a completed 2021 EPSL Request Form to their supervisor. Senate Faculty and Lecturers must submit their request to use EPSL via the leave module on the Academic Personnel website.

 Employees are encouraged to communicate their questions directly to their supervisor. 

Questions regarding staff usage of EPSL should be submitted by supervisors via HR ServiceNow  => Employee & Labor Relations => Department Advisory Services. Supervisors may wish to review the HR COVID-19 guidance webpage for more information.

Questions regarding academic appointee usage of EPSL should be submitted to: or the appropriate analyst in the Academic Personnel Office.
