RE: Changes to New Employee Benefits Orientation (NEBO)

In light of the Governor’s Stay at Home Order issued on March 19th, Human Resources will not be presenting NEBO via Zoom on the scheduled NEO dates.  The new offerings will be presented by our partners at the UCPath Center.

New Employee Benefits Orientation (NEBO) Webinar Offerings:

1. Employees who are eligible for Full benefits and Primary Retirement Benefits (UC Retirement Choice Program, UCRP): The weekly UCPATH webinar for Full benefits eligible employees offered every Friday (10:30am to noon)  If your employee is unable to attend one of the live webinar above, they have another opportunity to view a pre-recorded version  of the weekly webinar at any time. Please link to the pre-recorded New Employee Benefits Orientation.

2. Employees who are NOT eligible for UCRP: The monthly UCPATH webinar for Mid- Level and Core benefits eligible employees  offered 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:30 am -12:00 pm.   Since this live webinar is only once a month, employees will have the option to attend the weekly Full benefits webinar, listed above, with the understanding that they are not eligible for all the benefit plans or programs mentioned in this particular webinar.  The employee's personalized benefits roadmap will guide them to those benefits for which they are eligible. The pre-recorded version of the weekly Full benefits webinar is also an option and available at any time.

Employees hired after March 17th will receive an email from Human Resources with information about the new NEBO options, links to the information that are typically included in the Benefits Packet and their personalized Benefits Roadmap.

In order to ensure that we provide the information to all new or newly eligible, we are asking departments to register their employees via  ServiceNow (link is external) using the following instructions:  Human Resources/Benefits Administration /Request for New Employee Benefits Orientation.

Please contact me at Lisa.Romero@hr.ucsb.edu if you have any questions or concerns about these changes. You may also contact me by phone 805-893-5163 (Weds-Friday, 8am to 4:30 pm)
