RE:       Open Enrollment 2020: brings good news and new options.

Open Enrollment – which begins at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, and ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, – is your annual opportunity to review your UC benefits to make sure you have the best coverage for 2020.

While there aren’t major benefits changes in store for 2020, there will be some changes, including a few enhancements and new options.  Complete details are available on the OpenEnrollment website and in Open Enrollment booklets sent to employees via U.S. mail. The website will also offer videos, resources for answers to questions about UC benefits, and other online tools to help you decide the best coverage for you and your family.

Here are some 2020 Highlights:

• Continued low costs — Despite increases in health care costs nationwide, UC’s premium changes for faculty and staff are moderate, with some members even seeing decreases. Changes to employee contributions for single coverage across all pay bands range from a decrease of $12 per month to an increase of $16 per month. View 2020 rates for employees.

• New drug formulary for PPO plans — All non-Medicare PPO plans (CORE, UC Care and UC Health Savings Plan) will transition to a new prescription drug formulary within Anthem for 2020. Many members will experience no change, but some will be impacted.

• New for 2020 — Supplemental Health Plans complement, not replace,  your medical and disability plans by paying cash benefits directly to you if you’re hurt in an accident, experience a serious illness such as a heart attack or stroke, or are hospitalized for almost any reason.  Visit ucplus.com to learn more about the benefits offered by each plan and enroll with Aflac. If you have questions or need assistance enrolling, call the dedicated UC Plus customer service team at 888-212-7201.
