Revised PPSM 3 – Types of Appointments

RE:      Revised PPSM 3 – Types of Appointments

I am writing to update you on the University’s decision, following the employee comment phase, of the revised PPSM 3 – Types of Appointments.  PPSM 3 sets forth the different types of appointments in the UC system.

The revised policy:

a)     Incorporates the policy language/content of PPSM 24 – Per Diem Positions and the majority of PPSM 61 – Release During Probationary Period or from Limited, Casual/Restricted, and Floater                         Appointments language;

b)     Adds and clarifies existing language to each appointment type; and

c)      Clarifies existing health and welfare benefits language.

Based on the review of PPSM 3 – Types of Appointment, PPSM 24 will be rescinded as the policy language was incorporated into PPSM 3; and PPSM 61 will be assessed for potential rescission once the rest of that policy language has been reviewed.

The revised PPSM 3 is effective as of July 21, 2017 and will be published athttp://policy.ucop.edu/
