RE:  California Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2017

This is a reminder that the California minimum wage will increase from $10 per hour to $10.50 per hour effective January 1, 2017.  This change primarily impacts students in casual restricted student assistant positions. 

This change will be coordinated centrally by HR with EDB programming assistance from UCOP.   The program will identify active appointments in PPS with an hourly rate of less than $10.50 per hour, and will create a new distribution with a pay rate of $10.50 per hour beginning January 1, 2017.  The programming update is scheduled to take place the week of January 1st. 

UCSB salary range minimums that fall below $10.50 per hour will be adjusted in TCS effective January 1, 2017.  The job titles impacted by this change are:
