RE:         SX July 2016 One-Step Increase

The SX (AFSCME) bargaining unit will receive a one-step increase this July.  The effective date for bi-weekly paid employees is July 3, 2016. 

The process will begin the evening of Wednesday, May 11 and the entire process will be handled centrally by Human Resources.  The only action we ask of departments is to review the final EDB updates AFTER the EDB update takes place on the evening of May 20, 2016.  At that time, please confirm that all your staff in the SX bargaining unit received a one-step increase.

To be eligible for the one-step increase on July 3, 2016 an SX employee must be non-probationary AND be on pay status or on an approved leave in the SX bargaining unit on the effective date of the increase (July 3, 2016) and the date of the payout (July 27, 2016). 

Probationary employees hired on or before July 3, 2016 are eligible to receive the one-step increase on the first bi-weekly pay period following 30 days after completion of their probation.
Example:  Employee completes probation on August 8, 2016.  The employee is eligible to receive the one-step increase on September 11, 2016 (August 8 + 30 days = September 7, 2016 + next full bi-weekly pay period = September 11, 2016).
SX ONE-STEP INCREASE SCHEDULE

May 11 – 5:00 p.m. PPS freeze begins for SX
May 11 – 5:00 p.m. Preliminary Roster is run
May 12 through May 13 at 3:00 p.m. - HR reviews Preliminary Roster
May 13 at 3:00 p.m. – Second run of Preliminary Roster
May 16 through 18 at 3:00 p.m. – HR reviews second Preliminary Roster
May 18 at 3:00 p.m. – Final Roster
May 19 through 20 at 3:00 p.m. – HR reviews Final Roster
May 20 at 3:00 p.m. – EDB update
May 21 at 8:00 a.m. - PPS freeze ends for SX
May 23 – Departments review final EDB updates for accuracy.
