 RE:      Live Scan (Fingerprinting) Services
 
 
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the UCSB Police Department is no longer able to offer an on-campus Live Scan service (digital fingerprinting for background check purposes) for employment into positions that are designated as critical.  Positions designated as critical can include career, limited, contract, or casual-restricted appointments.  We apologize that the circumstances leading up to this decision happened quickly with no ability to provide advance notice to the campus.  Human Resources is reviewing possible alternatives to the present situation and will keep the campus apprised of new developments.  For the time being, Live Scan services must be obtained from local providers.  To view the list of local Live Scan/fingerprinting services please follow the link to:  https://www.hr.ucsb.edu/hr-units/talent-acquisition/all-about-background-checks
