We know that engaged employees are passionate and feel supported and motivated to do their best – translating to a more connected and productive work environment. By recognizing our strengths and addressing areas where we can better support our people, UC Santa Barbara is focusing our efforts on making our campus a truly engaging and fulfilling place to work for everyone. The UC systemwide Engagement Survey is a pulse survey that traditionally has been conducted every two years from 2012-2021. A random sampling of policy covered staff are surveyed to help identify what drives engagement specifically at UC Santa Barbara.
Prior surveys identified the areas of Career Development, Performance Management, and Wellness as our campuses key drivers to increase sustainable engagement. The Staff Engagement Workgroup (SEW) was formed in response to these survey results to develop actionable initiatives and, through campus wide collaboration, work towards improving employee engagement on our campus.
