January 2014 Wage Implementation
To: To PPS Preparers and Reviewers
As you may be aware the new UPTE RX/TX Contract was ratified by the membership on December 20, 2014 and that means…another wage implementation! The agreed wage implementation is 4% across the board for all RX/TX members effective January 5, 2014 for biweekly paid employees. For RX employees in exempt titles and paid monthly, the effective date of the 4% across the board increase is January 1, 2014.
The range adjustment will be accomplished through central processing and will require a freeze on Employee Database (EDB) activity for RX and TX employees. Due to the fast turnaround of this range adjustment, the exact freeze dates are not yet known, but we are looking to start the range adjustment processing as soon as January 9, 2014.
It is our understanding that the range adjustment process in PPS will update the distributions of both biweekly and monthly paid RX members. However, please note that an additional manual update to PPS for the RX exempt monthly paid employees will be required to reflect the effective date of January 1, 2014. This manual update is limited to a small group of RX employees. I will provide PPS update instructions specific to the RX exempt monthly paid group as soon as the range adjustment process is complete.
In the meantime, please make sure that your employees' PPS distributions extend past 01/05/14 (or 01/01/14 for monthly paid), otherwise the range adjustment process will not pick up the employee record.
Further instructions and reminders will be forthcoming. Stay tuned…
