When Evil Strikes: Making Sense of the Bad Things in Life

Date, Time & Venue

Sept 16, 2014

12:00-1:00 pm

Santa Barbara Harbor Room

After the IV tragedy this past May, students, staff and faculty have asked pastors,

rabbis and counselors about the question of evil, specifically, "was Elliot Rodger evil?"

Fr. John Love, Pastor of St. Mark's University Parish in Isla Vista, will address this

question by drawing from his personal interactions with the Rodger family immediately

after the violence and his years of pastoral experience. Fr. John received a doctorate in

spiritual and moral formation from the Catholic University of America. His academic

interests center on the intersection between medicine, religion and philosophy.
