RE: Notice of Formal Review and Employee Comment Period for PPSM 30 and LPPSM 3
This is to let you know that the systemwide Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) Policy 30, Compensation, and the campus’ Local Personnel Policies for Staff Members Policy 3, Types of Appointments, are undergoing formal review. As with all such policy revisions, Human Resources invites employees to comment on the proposed changes.
PPSM 30- COMPENSATION
The University of California is proposing revisions to Staff Policy 30 – Compensation, which applies to staff employees in the Professional & Support Staff and Managers & Senior Professionals personnel groups.
The revisions are intended to incorporate current compensation-related policies (PPSM 30-Salary, PPSM 31-Hours of Work, PPSM 32-Overtime (Non-Exempt Employees Only), and PPSM 33-Shift and Weekend Differential (Non-Exempt Employees Only)) and delegations of authority into one document, as well as align the policy with the Career Tracks initiative.
The proposed policy is posted at: http://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/tools-and-services/administrators/policies/proposed/ppsm-30.pdf
LOCAL PPSM 3- TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS
The revisions to Local PPSM 20- Recruitment and Internal Promotion finalize our campus process for internal promotion. The internal promotion procedures were put into effect on an interim basis only and Human Resources is now seeking to formally implement the provisions. Local PPSM 20- Recruitment and Internal Promotion has been updated and reorganized and the reference to the interim status of the internal promotion procedures has been removed.
You can read the proposed policy changes under Local PPSM policies for review at: http://www.hr.ucsb.edu/policies
The current policy is available at: http://www.hr.ucsb.edu/policies/local-ppsm-policy-3-%E2%80%94-types-appointments
This is a formal review and employees covered by these policies who wish to provide comments may submit them to Farfalla Borah (link sends e-mail) by no later than January 9, 2015.
