RE: Employee Communication Template - 99 Non-Represented Employees 3% Salary Increase
It is encouraged that departments notify employees of the base pay increase. Below is a sample template for your use. Feel free to personalize it as appropriate.
Please note: Although the vast majority of eligible non-represented staff employees will receive a 3% increase to their base pay, there are a handful of employees who have been flagged with the “RSM” error, which indicates that a 3% increase exceeds the new salary range maximum. As a result, the new salary/pay rate will be limited to the salary range maximum.
Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear [Employee Name]:
I am pleased to inform you that a 3% [confirm actual percentage from Web Merit’s final roster] increase to your base pay has been approved under the Salary Program for Non-Represented Staff. Your new pay rate is [insert $monthly rate per month or $hourly rate per hour]. For monthly paid non-represented career staff, the August 1, 2014 pay check will reflect the new pay rate. For biweekly paid non-represented career staff, the July 16, 2014 pay check will reflect the new pay rate.
This increase is intended to partially offset increased retirement and benefit costs that faculty and staff have absorbed over the past few years. Thank you for your continued dedication, service, and contributions to our University.
