Training for Managers & Supervisors
Whether you are a new or experienced supervisor, training programs are available to help you build and refresh your People Management skills. The University provides employees with free access to Lynda.com, which provides an extensive video library of engaging, top-quality courses traught by industry experts. Also, an overview of University training programs is available here. We recommend the following sequence as a general guide:
1. Supervisory Certificate Program
Courses open to all employees. Recommended for: those considering supervision, new supervisors, employees needing refresher courses.
2. UC People Management Certificate Program
FREE. Mostly online courses open to all employees. Recommended for: new supervisors to complete within their 1st year at the University, employees neededing refresher courses.
3. Human Resources "HR" Academy
FREE. By invitation. Recommended for employees with at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
4. UC Management Development Program
By invitation. For managers who supervise other managers, divisional leads, senior leaders etc.
