To implement recommended social distancing measures due to COVID-19, Human Resources will begin offering New Employee Orientation (NEO) via Zoom starting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
New Employee Orientation (NEO) welcomes new employees and employees with longer-service who just recently became eligible for UC benefits. NEO provides an introduction to UCSB and important information about the University of California, history and culture of UCSB, policies and procedures, training and development opportunities, services and resources available to employees, workplace protections and responsibilities, health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, and more.
All new employees should attend New Employee Orientation as soon as possible following their date of hire.

NEBO-New Employee Benefits Orientation
All new faculty and staff, as well as Postdoctoral Scholars, have 31 days deadline to enroll for UC benefits. The count starts from your first day at work (i.e. appointment or hire date.)
New faculty and staff who are eligible for UC Health and Welfare Benefits need to attend New Employee Benefits Orientation (NEBO).

1. Employees who are eligible for Full benefits and Primary Retirement Benefits (UC Retirement Choice Program, UCRP): Every Friday from 10:30am - 12:00 pm (weekly)
2. Employees who are NOT eligible for UCRP: 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm (once a month)

Newly appointed faculty members who do not enroll within 31 days of their start date, have a second period that begins on the first day of classes for the quarter in which their appointment starts, or the first day the faculty member arrives UCSB campus, whichever comes first.
