Welcome to UCSB! A successful orientation requires the combined efforts of the supervisor, the employee and University service units to effect a smooth transition to campus life.
Preparing For Your First Day
Finding your way around
Your hiring department will give you instructions on how to obtain a parking permit for your first day on campus. You will need to complete the new hire paperwork before you can apply for a long-term permit.
New Hire Paperwork
Your department personnel coordinator will give you the forms and help you complete the required information.

Enroll in Benefits
As a new employee, you probably have a lot of questions about your Health and Welfare Benefits. In addition to New Employee Orientation, you will find resources to help you make the right choices on the Benefits and At Your Service websites.
Remember, you have 31 days from your first day at work to enroll in your benefits.
For most plans, you’re covered on your first day at work. But, we will need time to process your enrollment.
